Corruption and the Challenge of Economic Transformation in Southern Africa – Conference

Call for Abstracts / Papers
The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Sub-regional Office for Southern Africa (SRO-SA) in collaboration with the African Union Southern Africa Regional Office (AU-SARO) are organising a regional conference on: Corruption and the Challenge of Economic Transformation in Southern Africa from 4 – 6 July, 2018. The conference will bring together academics, high-level government officials from member States, members of the private sector, CSOs, NGOs, anti-corruption institutions, research institutions, invited legislators and members of the judiciary, as well as regional and international organizations.

Venue: Gaborone, Botswana

Call for papers for the 16th Globelics International Conference

Dear Innovation Scholars and Practitioners,

The call for papers for the 16th Globelics International Conference is now here. The theme for the Conference is Innovation, Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Strengthening Institutions for Greater Relevance, Effectiveness and Inclusivity. The Conference will take place in Accra, Ghana from 24th – 26th October, 2018.

The conference invites papers addressing the role of different types of actors such as the State, local or traditional authorities, global networks, universities and research institutions, private sector, non-governmental organisations / civil society organisations and media in generating innovation, building capacity and strengthening institutions for sustainable development and inclusive growth. In particular, it aims to explore new approaches to understand innovations and institutional transformations within countries, across different economic sectors, and different operation level (macro, meso and micro), without losing sight of contextual gender disparities.

The conference also welcomes papers studying how development policies can be implemented at different levels and across different countries to innovate out of emerging crisis of climate change, “resource curse”, youth unemployment, poverty, health and gender inequalities. The Conference is being organized under 15 tracks which can be found on the conference website

Travel Support for early career and developing country scholars is available as well and hence PhD students and early career scientists are encouraged to apply.
